At The Gearshack outdoor shop we treat your privacy seriously.
We have three methods of collecting emails: a) you can sign up in the shop; b) you can sign up online; c) if you email us we'll put your email in our database.
On one occasion in 2007 we collected emails from another store to market the Kendal Mountain Film Festival on Tour, which we hosted in Lewes. This was our only other source of email addresses.

We have NO other method of collecting emails.

We have never bought lists commercially and will never do so.

We will never sell or pass on your data to anyone.

We do send out newsletters occasionally, but if you reply with 'Unsubscribe' in the subject line our system will flag this up, asking us to delete your address manually from the list (it's not automatic).
All your credit card and address details are held in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
If at any time you want us to delete your details, just let us know.
If we unwittingly fail to delete your email or send you an email you didn't want, let us know - this will be a genuine mistake and we ask you to bear in mind that we have no need or intention to pester people with unwanted mail - it's not in our interests.
