(2 krabs, shock absorber, rope). This kit is ready to go - follow the tie in instructions (the metal plate gets included within the Fig 8 tie-in knot to your harness) and it's easy to use. The joy of this one is security with its simplicity of attachment to the harness, as long as you can tie a rethreaded Fig 8 knot (no extra karabiner or maillon). The two krabs supplied are auto-locking wide gates, perfect for via ferrata. Recommended for economy; it's just as safe and if you want to replace the rope after wear and tear you could re-tie it yourself using 11mm rope.

Probably the most popular via ferrata lanyard on the market, the Zyper Y is easy to use and effective. It uses an energy absorbtion system in the event of a fall, with the extra rope used for braking stowed away at the side of the harness.
