List of Climbing Locations inspected for the Guide Association There are many climbing locations suitable for groups which have not been included on this list. This does not mean you can't use them. The list is for information only - a qualified instructor should know where they can operate. The main reason for locations not being on the lists is that no-one has asked for them to be inspected. All UK regions were sent requests for climbing locations to be submitted, but many areas and locations were omitted as nothing was returned. If you have knowledge of any other group climbing locations which might be used, please let us know. Please click on the region on the map or list to see the listings for that area. The Council of Campsite Wardens If you are looking for further information on most Scout and Guide sites listed here, another very useful source is the Council of Campsite Wardens website. The CCSW site also lists sites with no climbing/abseiling, which are not listed here. Please remember that there may be information regarding climbing and abseiling qualifications on these sites which does not comply with current Guide Association regulations! Scoutbase Many sites are Scout Association sites; the campsite directory on their website is very useful. Many of the sites listed here are in the directory, which provides full information on all facilities at the sites.
